Summer Learning

Parents:

It is important that your child continues to practice reading, writing, and math this summer. There are numerous online resources, many of them free, that provide opportunities for students to keep learning.

Our Students and Parents pages on our Draggo website feature a variety of educational websites your child can use. We also suggest they sign up for a free library card at your local public library so they can borrow books to read all summer long. Most libraries have summer reading programs where students can earn fun prizes for reading.

The article “Strategies to Encourage Summer Reading” includes some great tips on how to keep students reading during the summer. It features some “Parent Quick Tip Literacy Videos” that provide ways for you to support your child’s reading at home.

Teachers:

Here are two quick reads on how you can decrease your English Learners’ social anxiety and academic anxiety in the classroom.
